Tales of technology and passion
The Pellegrini Group, which includes GP Dati Hotel Service, this year celebrates the 85th anniversary of the foundation of its first company in Venice by Giuseppe Pellegrini.
To commemorate this important anniversary, we have decided to contribute to the territory that has seen us grow and develop, with something valuable for Venice and its fragility, as well as for the Veneto Region.
Our choice fell on the restoration of a work of art that has been watching over Canal Grande for centuries, from the fondamenta of Palazzo Labia in Cannaregio: the statue of St. John of Nepomuk - the patron saint of Bohemia and, above all, protector of bridges and persons who risk drowning. For this reason, the cult of this saint is very widespread in Venice, though forgotten nowadays.
Our aim is to contribute to the conservation of a number of unique works but also to encourage all, whether Venetians or tourists, to search for the countless number of treasures hidden amongst the fields.
The initiative was presented on 20th March at the presence of the Mayor of Venice, Massimo Cacciari.
